TURNKEY INSTALLATIONS

Fast. Simple. Secure.

When the job has to be done right, you don’t ask just anyone. You want the experts. You want the best. Miller Pipeline developed WEKO-SEAL® in 1975, and we’ve been installing pipe seals ourselves ever since. Over 285,000 WEKO-SEAL®s have been installed, and you can count the number we’ve had to re-do on one hand.

We can handle pretty much any type of pipe material, too, including:

  • Cast iron
  • Ductile iron
  • Concrete and reinforced concrete
  • Prestressed and pre-tensioned concrete
  • Steel
  • PVC
  • Polyethylene
  • Vitrified clay
  • Fiberglass reinforced
  • Composite

The Process.

Our expert installation teams will get the job done right, but that’s just the start. It’s a trenchless method meaning minimum surface disturbance and fast installation. You won’t even know we were here. Here’s how we do it.

Safe Entry: Establishing confined space entry and ventilation is essential. We never jeopardize safety for production, and all of our installation experts are highly trained in safety procedures.

Surface Prep: The interior of the pipe is inspected, excess debris removed and the joint or joints are filled with a quick setting mortar or epoxy, depending on the application. We then apply lubricant to the prepared surface to aid in seal expansion.

Placement: The WEKO-SEAL® rubber is placed in position, and retaining bands are placed in designated positions on the seal.

Expansion and Locking: Using a hydraulic expansion tool, the retaining bands are expanded to a predetermined pressure range and locked in position. This compresses the gasket to the pipe wall. A second expansion is then done to compensate for any relaxation of the rubber.

Testing: We do a pressure test to make sure the seal was a success. If this test indicates leakage, the seal is removed and reinstalled until the seal is secure.

APPLICATIONS

Fix anything that leaks.

WEKO-SEAL® isn’t just a reliable solution for sealing a leaking pipe. It’s also versatile, with the capability to function in tons of situations. WEKO-SEAL® is designed to function in pipelines of practically any material available, and any shape as well – including pipes that have compound angles. Normal pipe movement from ground shifting, thermal expansion and contraction, and vibration won’t harm the seal. And since it will save you 60 percent over conventional repairs and it’s maintenance-free after installation, WEKO-SEAL® will save you money too.

Water

WEKO-SEAL® is standard ANSI/NSF 61-1991 Drinking Water approved and classified by UL in accordance with ANSI/NSF 61, meaning that it can safely be used in pipes that transmit potable water. It employs EPDM seal material and Type 304 stainless steel retaining bands. WEKO-SEAL® also can tolerate internal operating pressures in excess of 300 psi, making it available for a wide variety of situations.

Wastewater/Stormwater

WEKO-SEAL® has a number of applications within a wastewater treatment plant, including sealing leaks in water lines, air lines, and wastewater lines. With EPDM seal material and Type 316 stainless steel bands, as well as the ability to handle external head pressure in excess of 100 feet, WEKO-SEAL® prevents infiltration of groundwater and exfiltration of sewage in any situation you might run into.

Natural Gas

WEKO-SEAL® can be used to seal drips in natural gas lines, and with nitrile seals, carbon-steel bands, and a maximum allowable working pressure of 60 PSI, it’s a versatile solution.

Nuclear and Industrial

WEKO-SEAL® uses EPDM rubber for nuclear and industrial jobs, as well as standard 316 & 304 SS bands. Corrosion-resistant stainless alloy bands are also available for saltwater applications. WEKO-SEAL® can also be approved for safety-related piping.
